Tori & Tay | 48 Watt Street Wedding - Bridal Shoot & Proposal

Tori & Tay's Bridal Shoot and Proposal - 48 Watt Street Wedding

I first reached out to a few Newcastle wedding vendors when I wanted to do an inner-city Newcastle bridal shoot. With Filmed by Andy & I putting together the concept and sourcing people to bring the vision to life, it soon went from a simple idea to an entire shoot with some of Newcastle best wedding suppliers on board.

Celebrant Jaya Bargwanna was one of the first people I reached out to, and she mentioned that she knew a couple that'd be perfect for the shoot. Tori & Tay, a young loved up couple from Newcastle with great style and a genuine connection. I then reached out to Jade McIntosh Flowers, Ivory State Hair & Makeup, Sophie of Luna Joy (dresses), Kim from Love Glows, and the venue, 48 Watt Street Newcastle.

With a premium lineup of suppliers, all we had to do now was pull it all together and make some great content! While planning the shoot, one of the models, Tori, reached out and mentioned that she'd planned to propose to Tay and wanted to know if it'd be possible to use the shoot to make this happen. Of course, we all said yes! Kim from Love Glows just happened to have the biggest WILL YOU MARRY ME? sign I've ever seen at the ready to bring along to the shoot for what would be the finally & final images of the shoot.

Rewind to the start of the shoot; as the sun began to set over Newcastle, we started the shoot on the rooftop of Bolton Street car park. Wrapped in golden light that soon changed to deep purples as the sun disappeared behind the buildings & horizon, it was the perfect way to kick off the shoot. From there, we all made our way out and onto the streets of Newcastle, using some of the buildings and unique architecture of Bolton, King & Watt street for some moody nighttime portraits.

48 Watt Street was the final stop. With a ceremony set up in The Atrium, with a special feature from celebrant Jaya Bargwanna, fantastic styling by Jade McIntosh, all lit by Love Glows neons, we created some super edgy dimly lit ceremony shots.

Following these images, we split off from Tay for a moment to show Tori the space we'd planned for the surprise proposal to Tay. The giant WILL YOU MARRY ME? sign and flower petals was truly the perfect setting for any proposal. Tori got in position, ring in hand and ready to drop to one knee, as we called Tay into the room. It all came together seamlessly! Tay said YES! ...of course, and I don't think there was anyone present that wasn't in tears. It was such a beautiful moment.

A massive shoutout to all of the fantastic wedding vendors involved in making this happen! It could not have happened without you!
