Peterson House Weddings
As a wedding photographer, I have shot many Peterson House Weddings. Moving into 2022 & 2023, we will be spending many days at Peterson, with quite a few of our couples have chosen this gorgeous Hunter Valley wedding venue for their big day.
I first photographed Peterson House long before the team had built the new Chapel & marquee onsite. Many years ago now. Over the past few years, this iconic venue in the heart of the Hunter Valley has become one of the most visited & desired venues for weddings.
In the current wedding season alone, we have photographed countless weddings at Peterson House Chapel & Reception: James & Rosie, Annabee & Rhyse, Tom & Karmen, Angela & Peter & Marty & Rach. And with many more booked in for the next 24 months already, it's a venue I'll be visiting a lot.
A canvas that can be painted in many ways, having photographed Peterson House weddings, I've been lucky enough to see the endless options when it comes to styling this space. Peterson House is a versatile venue you can style for a formal, more traditional wedding ceremony & reception. In contrast, it can also be styled in a rustic, more understated way suited for a more relaxed, cruisy couple. The Chapel blends modern yet classic features, making this space one spot on every Bride or Groom's list when deciding on their wedding venue.
Peterson House offers so much all in one perfect package. From an impressive, large wedding chapel, an excellent option for both ceremony & reception (I'll expand on this later). A space with an abundance of natural light that floods through the many windows. A few couples choose to have their ceremony outside. The option to have your ceremony down near the vineyard, using the dam as your backdrop. Or another option where having Peterson House, the main building with its sandstone aisle surrounded by beautiful gardens, as your ceremony location. All are excellent wedding ceremony options and suit different styles of couples, accomodating their needs & vision.
Peterson House has a purpose-built marquee for your wedding reception, which overlooks the vineyard with views in all directions & that can also seat a maximum of 300 guests. But as previously mentioned, the Chapel is a reception option also. In addition, the amazing sandstone structure with its warm lighting, dark timber-style floors & cosy atmosphere is an excellent contrast to the marquee for couples looking for an alternate option. Accommodating up to 120 guests, it's a perfect option for most weddings. And lastly, for a smaller, more intimate wedding, The House may be more suited. An architecturally designed sandstone structure with large exposed, rustic timber beams & stone floor. This building is full of character & has an amazing ambience.
FOOD & WINE
The Restaurant Cuvee team headed up by chef Chad Pride deliver some fantastic food options when catering for your wedding day. The food, paired with Peterson's sparkling wines, will have your guests very happy. Thus, setting the perfect atmosphere for any wedding in the Hunter Valley.
One of the best parts of the venue's location is that it's within a minute or two of most of the Hunter Valley's best accommodation options. Of course, Crowne Plaza is the most popular option due to its proximity to Peterson. However, there are many other options, all within a few minutes, from Oaks Cypress Lakes, Chateau Elan, The Mercure, many Air BnB options, Hunter Valley Stays properties & many more.
